Landing pages
A landing page has one job and one action.
The fastest way to waste ad budget is to send expensive traffic to a page offering six things to do.
A landing page is a single page built for one campaign and one action, with the message matched to the ad that brought the visitor. It exists to convert paid traffic, which is why it is usually built alongside paid traffic management rather than separately.

02 · Detail
Why campaign traffic needs its own page.
A home page is built for everyone: existing customers, job applicants, journalists, people comparing suppliers. That breadth is exactly wrong for someone who just clicked an ad about one specific service. The mismatch between ad and page is one of the three most common reasons an account underperforms.
Message match is the mechanic that matters. If the ad promised a free structural assessment, the page headline should say those words. Every step of reinterpretation the visitor has to make costs conversions.
Removing navigation is usually right for a landing page and usually wrong for a website, which is another reason the two are different deliverables. A page with a menu invites the visitor to wander; a page without one asks for a decision.
03 · How it works
How we build one.
- 01
One objective
What single action defines success. Everything that does not serve it is removed.
- 02
Message match
The headline echoes the promise the ad made, in the same words.
- 03
Objection order
Answering doubts in the sequence a real buyer raises them.
- 04
Proof
Specific and verifiable. Vague claims of excellence convert nobody.
- 05
Track and test
Conversion events verified before spend, then tested against a variant.
04 · Fit
Who landing pages are for.
Landing pages fit any campaign that sends traffic to one offer: a paid search campaign for a specific service, a Meta campaign for a product launch, a LinkedIn campaign offering a diagnostic. The visitor arrives with one intent, and the page exists to serve that intent without distraction.
They fit businesses running more than one offer or audience, because one page trying to speak to three segments underperforms three pages each speaking clearly to one. They also fit teams that want to test: a dedicated page can be varied and measured in a way a home page cannot.
They are a poor substitute for a website. A landing page without navigation asks for a decision; a company still needs pages that let people verify it exists, read about services and find contact details. The two are different deliverables with different jobs.
05 · Common mistakes
The mistakes we correct first.
- Campaign traffic sent to the home page. Built for everyone, it serves the specific visitor poorly and the conversion rate shows it.
- Headline that does not repeat the ad. The promise in the ad and the first line on the page should use the same words.
- Six things to do. One page, one action. Every additional option is an exit.
- Proof that proves nothing. Vague claims of excellence convert nobody. Specific, verifiable evidence does.
- Tracking verified after spend. Conversion events are tested before budget runs, so the first week of data is real.
Message match and a single objective account for most of the difference between a page that converts and one that merely loads.
06 · Measurement
How we measure and improve.
Conversion rate by traffic source is the number, with the conversion defined as a real business event and validated in the account before launch. Once there is enough traffic, a variant is tested against the original: one change at a time, so the result can be read.
The page is reviewed alongside the campaign it serves, because a landing page problem and a targeting problem look identical from the outside and require different fixes.
