01 · Authority
Authority
A bought link is a liability sitting on your domain.
Link networks work until they do not, and the recovery costs more than the links ever saved.
Link building is the work of earning mentions and links from sites that genuinely have reason to reference yours: digital PR, useful published data, partnerships and directory listings that actually matter. We do not buy links or use private networks, because those are the fastest route to a manual penalty.

02 · Detail
Why we refuse paid link networks.
Paid links violate Google guidelines explicitly. They also frequently work, for a while, which is exactly what makes them tempting. The problem is that the penalty arrives without warning and the recovery involves disavowing links, waiting, and rebuilding what was lost.
The clients who suffer most are the ones who did not know it happened. An agency that quietly buys links leaves the risk on your domain and takes the retainer, and you inherit the penalty long after they are gone.
What works instead is slower and duller: publishing something worth referencing, being genuinely quotable in your industry, and having the relationships that make a mention natural. It compounds and it cannot be taken away by an algorithm update.
03 · How it works
How we earn links.
- 01
Audit the profile
What already points at you, including anything toxic inherited from a previous agency.
- 02
Find the asset
Data, tools or analysis your industry would actually reference.
- 03
Outreach
To publications and sites with real reason to care. Not mass email.
- 04
Relationships
Partners, suppliers, associations and clients. The most durable links start here.
- 05
Monitor
New links, lost links, and unsolicited toxic ones that need disavowing.
04 · Fit
Who link building is for.
It fits sites where technical health and content are already sound and rankings have plateaued behind competitors with more authority. It fits companies with something worth referencing: original data, tools, research, a real point of view, or relationships in their industry that can be turned into mentions.
It fits businesses recovering from a previous agency that bought links, where the first job is an audit and a disavow, and companies entering a competitive market where authority is the deciding factor.
It is a poor fit as a first step. Links pointing at a site with indexing problems or thin content are wasted, and we say so. It is also not a monthly quota: anyone quoting a number of links per month is selling volume because volume is easy to buy.
05 · Common mistakes
The mistakes we refuse or correct.
- Paid link networks. The fastest route to a manual penalty. We do not buy links and we audit for ones a previous agency bought.
- Mass directory submission. Worthless for over a decade. A few industry-specific directories that reinforce business data are the exception.
- Outreach by mass email. Publications ignore it. Targeted outreach to sites with a real reason to reference you works.
- Anchor text that reads like advertising. Natural mentions use the brand or a descriptive phrase, not the keyword you want to rank for.
- Ignoring internal links. The cheapest authority available is the site's own, and it is usually distributed badly.
Earned authority compounds and cannot be taken away by an algorithm update. It is slower and duller than buying, and it is the only version that lasts.
06 · Measurement
How we measure and report.
New referring domains and their relevance, lost links, toxic links found and disavowed, and the ranking movement of the pages the links point to. Domain-level metrics from tools are shown as context, not as the goal.
Each mention earned is listed with how it was earned, so the relationships and assets that produced it can be reused.
